Firle Place
Grade II listed Firle Place is a privately-owned country house in Sussex that dates from the time of Henry VIII. The Gage family has lived at Firle for half a century and the present-day estate is a thriving community of artists, craftsmen and local businesses.
The Firle Estate stretches over the beautiful rolling hills of the South Downs National Park, an area recognised as one of the most important chalk landscapes in the country. The estate hosts numerous festivals and events as well as being a popular filming location, in particular for period dramas.
Stone Edge Conservation carried out repair and maintenance work to Caen stone façades, including pointing, grouting and the replacement of some weathered stone ashlars. The work was carefully spread over several phases, so as not to disrupt the enjoyment of the many visitors to the estate.
