19-21 Old Bond Street
Located in London’s prestigious shopping district, 19-21 Old Bond Street seamlessly blends retail and office spaces. The building boasts an elegant Portland stone facade complemented by a Westmorland slate mansard roof. The rear of the structure features a contemporary design constructed of modern brick and precast stone.
Stone Edge Conservation played a pivotal role during the pre-planning stage, assisting in the development of a detailed specification of works through comprehensive surveys and sampling of the roofing and masonry facades.
Following a successful tender process, we were entrusted with executing a significant refurbishment package. This package included the installation of a completely new roof system and the associated lead and slate pitched roofs, structural repairs to the precast elements of the rear elevations, refurbishment of the powder-coated windows, and conservation cleaning of the Portland facade.
During the mobilisation phase, the client requested an evaluation of the existing air handling units in favour of a more modern and streamlined option. By collaborating closely with the client’s M&E consultant, we successfully integrated these additional works into the existing project timeline.
A paramount aspect of this project involved effective communication with all stakeholders, and required the expertise of one of our dedicated senior site managers.
